Girls Who Own

$0.00

Problem

Foodstuffs faced a clear pipeline gap. Women were underrepresented in supermarket ownership and senior retail leadership, and many young women simply didn’t see grocery retail as a viable career or business pathway.

Solution

Partnered with Foodstuffs to design Girls Who Own, a hands-on leadership accelerator giving young women direct exposure to owner-operators, mentoring, and real-world business skills, creating a practical pathway into retail entrepreneurship.

Don’t just take my word for it:

As highlighted by Cooperative Business New Zealand in the NZ Cooperative Economy Report 2025:

“As with much of the rest of the world, succession planning is a challenge, with more than half our New Zealand’s 17,320 farm and orchard owners reaching retirement age in the coming decade, and $150bn in agricultural assets dependent on successful succession. Foodstuffs offers specific employer-educator programmes such as the Girls Who Own leadership development programme.
